Spring is coming....

It's about time the weather started to turn for the better around here! With the snow threatening to melt within the next few weeks, the Genesee Rebels began their Spring Training Indoor Practices on Friday night at NX Level. The Rebels had a nice turnout to start the season. There is a solid core of returning players who look to make this season memorable.

Noticeably absent from the Rebels practice was slugger Chris Elliott. He had a decent reason for missing the opening practice though. He was busy welcoming his first baby boy into the world. Congratulations Papa Elliott! The Rebs look forward to seeing Baby Elliott at the ball-field this summer.

Also absent was outfielder Dom Nabak who claims to have undergone season ending surgery during the past week. This is a nasty blow for the Rebels who were looking to Dom to patrol the outfield and add some speed on the base paths. The good news though is that the Rebels now have an official Bookkeeper and Foul-Ball-Chaser for the entirety of the season! Get better Dom.

The Rebels will continue their indoor practices next Friday, March 13th at NX Level from 6-7 pm. Barring any Friday the 13th shenanigans, it should be another good showing.

With any luck, the baseball diamonds will be visible within a week! Bring on baseball.
